Current Position Openings

Operations & Marketing Director

Description: Mountain Lake Services seeks an experienced Operations & Marketing Director to join a progressive management team providing services to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. This position reports to the Executive Director. The Director will assume marketing responsibilities which include: procuring subcontract work from private industry, state, and federal sources; coordinating marketing activities (including advertising, direct mail, customer events and trade shows); formulating short- and long-term marketing goals; participating in the development of new products and services; and development of marketing strategies focused on increasing sales for all products and services.The ideal candidate should also have interest in developing alternative work experiences in community settings.

Requirements: BA degree is required, with at least three years' management experience and computer skills. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are necessary. Strong analytical skills are essential. Ability to work collaboratively with staff is a must.

Location: Mineville and Port Henry, NY. Monday through Friday work schedule.

Registered Nurse

Description: This is a stimulating management opportunity for an energetic, compassionate nurse to work with adults with intellectual disabilities. The incumbent is responsible for assessing individual medical needs; coordinating medical services; providing staff training about health-related issues; and ensuring compliance with medication policies.

Additional Duties: Provide prompt and proper medical attention to residents' routine and special medical needs. Ensure that accurate and complete records of medical and nursing services are entered into each resident's file. These positions have a flexible Monday-Friday work schedule.

Requirements: An RN license to practice in New York State is required. Experience with people with developmental disabilities is desirable and preferred. Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills are required. Ability to work collaboratively with staff is a must.

Location: Jay, Keeseville, Lake Placid, and Willsboro, NY.

Licensed Practical Nurse

Description: This is a stimulating opportunity for an energetic, compassionate nurse to work with adults with intellectual disabilities in residential settings under the supervision of an RN. The incumbent is responsible for: assisting with the assessment of individual medical needs; coordinating medical services; providing staff training about health-related issues; and ensuring compliance with medication policies.

Additional Duties: Provide prompt and proper medical attention to residents' routine and special medical needs. Ensure that accurate and complete records of medical and nursing services are entered into each resident's file. These positions have a flexible Monday-Friday work schedule.

Requirements: An LPN license to practice in New York State is required. Experience with people with developmental disabilities is desirable and preferred. Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills are required. Ability to work collaboratively with staff is a must.

Residential Manager

Description: This is a stimulating management opportunity for an energetic, compassionate professional to manage services in homes for adults with intellectual disabilities. The incumbent is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and coordinating all services related to the residents served. Responsibilities also include managing and supervising staff; and ensuring overall maintenance of the homes.

Manage daily operations of residences for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Supervise residential staff through ongoing support, feedback and training. Implement and document services and enhance residents' quality of life.

Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field is required. Two years' experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilties is preferred. Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills are required. Ability to work collaboratively with staff is a must.

Location: Lake Placid, NY.

Direct Support Professionals

We always accept applications for the Direct Support Professional position and for part-time relief staff for the Direct Support Professional position described herein.

Many people have found working as relief staff to be an excellent supplementary income or a path to eventual full-time employment with the agency.

Description: Promote individualization by offering choices. Encourage people to be independent and actively involved in all aspects of their daily lives. Provide physical assistance, training, counseling, and emotional support as needed. Be actively involved in developing supports and services to each person served. Carry out specific strategies identified in the individualized service plan (ISP) and provide required documentation. Network within the community to help develop friendships and natural supports.

Other responsibilities may include provision of intensive on-the-job training, long-term follow-along support, job development, advocacy, assisting workers to become more independent in their job tasks, and maintaining records in accordance with OPWDD, VESID and program requirements.

Requirements: HS diploma or GED degree, lifting ability, and a clean driving record. Previous experience with intellectually disabled people is a plus.

Assistant Residential Manager

Description: This is a stimulating management opportunity for an energetic, compassionate professional to manage homes for adults with intellectual disabilities. The incumbent assists in developing, implementing, and coordinating all services related to the residents. Responsibilities also include supervising staff and ensuring overall maintenance of the homes.

Physical Therapist (part-time or per diem)

Description: Mountain Lake Services seeks an energetic and committed part-time or per diem Physical Therapist to provide services to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Port Henry, NY under the supervision of a qualified Physical Therapist. Services provided will address people's habilitative needs. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are necessary.

Requirements: Must be licensed and registered in NYS. Experience with people with intellectual disabilities is preferred. Ability to work collaboratively with staff is a must.

Location: Port Henry, NY. Flexible work schedule.

Speech Pathologist

Description: Provide full-time speech therapy services in our Home-Based Early Childhood Intervention and Preschool Program in Essex County. Work with a multi-disciplinary team to create and implement service plans for children from birth to 5 years old.

Requirements: NYS Licensure as a Speech and Language Pathologist is required. A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required. Excellent communication skills, human relations skills, organizational skills, and computer proficiency are required. Ability to work collaboratively with staff is a must. Salary is negotiable based on education and experience.

Location: Port Henry, NY, with frequent work-related travel.

Our minimum full-time starting rate is $11.75/hour.

We are currently accepting applications for full-time, awake overnight, and relief staff for the Direct Support Professional position described in this section. We have immediate openings in Jay, Keeseville, Willsboro, Westport, Elizabethtown, Port Henry, Crown Point, Ticonderoga, and Schroon Lake. Earn up to $12.50/hour.

Management Position Descriptions

Required Minimum Qualifications: BS/BA degree and/or equivalent licensure for RN/LPN positions, lifting ability, and a valid driver's license.

  • Assistant Managers: Manage daily operations of residences for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Supervise residential staff through ongoing support, feedback and training. Implement and document services and enhance residents' quality of life.
  • Service Coordinators: Actively advocate for each person served and ensure the development of needed supports and services through person centered planning. Communicate with all relevant parties including the person, their advocate, family, service providers, and interested community members regarding achievement of outcomes and response to services. Plan and conduct team meetings annually, semi-annually, and as needed. Network as necessary to obtain adaptive technology, environmental modifications, clinical, and community services. Write and amend the individualized service plan (ISP) and complete the service coordinator contract. Maintain service coordination notes, quarterly observation reports, and all other necessary documentation.
  • Registered Nurses: Assess individual medical needs and coordinate medical services. Present staff trainings about health-related issues. Ensure compliance with medication policies. Provide prompt and proper medical attention to residents' routine and special medical needs. Ensure that accurate and complete records of medical and nursing services are entered into each resident's file. These positions follow a flexible Monday-Friday work schedule.
